LIVERPOOL LOW FLYING AIRCRAFT 05/06/06

Full sized view Full sized view

Owednesday 07/06/06 the UPIA were contacted by Stephen Mera of MAPIT to ask if we could look into a UFO report from the Merseyside area.

After contacting the witness regarding her sighting from the Haydock area East of the city of Liverpool.

Witness A gave all details to the event, and following the call sent an email directly, including a mobile telephone shot of the event. ( As seen above )

Dear Dave,

Further to our telephone call, please find attached photograph taken by my husband. This was taken between 10.12 - 10.20 PM. My husband initally witnessed the ball of fire in the sky. My sister-in-law, my son and I then joined him. Looking directly up from our home we watched what looked like a sphere, burning bright and covered in flames. It was glowing an orange, yellow light and had another light (like Batman's) glowing in front and on top of it. The only way to describe it is like a comet without its tail. There was no noise, it was a normal sunny evening, no high winds or heavy breeze. The object was not high in the clouds but flying low slowly over our house. My husband asked my son to obtain his digital camera, which would not work at first. It only came on when the object had passed over our house. It shot vertically into the clouds, back down and left, it then shot up vertically again, turned black, which then looked like a black ball, free-fell and then shot off towards the east lancs out of sight. We contacted the police to report it, they were very interested as they had received calls from the Wirral and Huyton. I could accept the Tornado made the noise and set off car alarms in Huyton, but the man in the Wirral witnessed the same as us, he thought it had crash landed and went searching for it, in order to assist any injured. Three of our neighbours were walking home and stopped to acknowldge the object with us. They too were flumaxed by what they witnessed. I wrote to the MOD by e-mail who have since e-mailed me back and requested my home address. It was alleged to me by UFOTEK in Kent that all sightings from the public have to be reported due to 9.11 atrosities in America? He is unsure who they contact and inform, as the MOD denied it being them and directed him to contact the head of the police, who have failed to respond. You are right that the Tornado flew past here, because we heard an RAF plane half an hour later. We questioned if it had been sent to check the sky? My husband has just reminded me, therefore, is it possible they can state the exact time that they flew past this area? I have contacted my sister-in-law and informed her about the Tornado, however, she is adamant it was not a plane. She is very much a sceptic and does not believe in aliens etc. My other work freaks her out too!! Thank you very much for contacting me and assisting us further. I did not want to investigate it myself, due to my family and I being the witnesses. If I can assist you further in anyway, then please do not hesitate to contact us.

Witness A.

I have contacted all the major authorities and local news agencies directly following this report, Replies I have currently recieved are from:

RAF Warton aerodrome - No Aircraft night flying from there

Merseyside police - 5 reports in total, unable to give details. Although they suggested Liverpool Airport had released a statement concluding the aircraft over Liverpool on Monday 05/06/06 to be a military jet.

Daily post and Echo library - No information

Daily Post and Echo editorial - No information, although an article has now been included

St Helens Star - Only witnesses original report, an article including that has been issued, and a second regarding the UPIA's involvement will this week be included.

Wirral Globe - No information, again an article to be included

Finally I contacted the MOD low flying aircraft department, who within ten minutes replied saying no aircraft had performed a low fly exercise, within a twenty mile radius and 2hr window of the event. All low flying events must be logged, upon landing, and this is processed directly to a database, which the female operative had accessed.

All low flying classifications are below 2000ft.

I am awaiting communication from Liverpool airport, Manchester Airport and RAF Valley. But I am unable to find any information regarding Liverpool airports statement.

In total between myself and the Merseyside Anomolies Research Association we have 6 reports from the date, all are similar in detail.

I believe this was not a Tornado as originally thought, but a Typhoon, my conclusions are made due to the colour of the aircraft reported and also due to an article appearing in Friday 09/06/06 edition of the Daily Post regarding an event on Monday 05/06/06 of earth tremors in Cheshire, North Wales and West Lancashire, according to the British Geological Survey, this was due to a Typhoon on exercises over the Irish sea, and surrounding areas, this was confirmed by British Aerospace, therefore a Typhoon is known to be in the area on that day, times are unconfirmed.

This aside, information other than witness statements, and that of Liverpool airport, still unable to be found, lead me to this conclusion.

Additional

Since the subject came to light we have recieved additional emails regarding this sighting, one adding to the Tornado theory, the second with a photograph of a lit lantern, and finally, my initial witness has forwarded me the email recieved via the MOD.

Regards.

Dave

1. on Monday evening i was returning home from work at 2130 when i

noticed a tornado aircraft over the village of burtonwood ( i know

it was a tornado as i spent 8 years in the army and have seen many

of these aircraft ) when i got to my house i could still see the

aircraft in the distance (travelling towards Manchester ) it then

turned its after burners on i could see them clearly, It then

proceeded to travel in an ark back towards Liverpool , at about 2210

i heard the aircraft again but did not see it, i live in the village

of burtonwood and we do not see many military fighter aircraft,

probably because of our close proximity to Liverpool and Manchester

airports ( we do however see a lot of military helicopters as we are

in the main flight corridor ) .i hope this can shed some light on the

subject

2.Hello Dave

I decided to send this email after reading events in the StHelens Star on on your websight relating to a UFO sighting in Haydock on 05/06/06.

After recieving some good results from my Dads first chemotherapy treatment my Wife and I (not being religouse but spritual) decided to make an offering by launching one of our flying lanterns ...pic attached.

It was launched at approx 22:10 from our garden in Haydock on 05/06/06 and witnessed by a nieghbour. After the initial ascent and at about 150 ft it started to drift towards the Huntsman pub area and just as we started to lose sight we heard the farmiliar sound (to anyone living in Haydock) of a planes reverse engine thrust as it prepared its descent into Manchester airport. The lanterns measure about 3 ft high and 2 ft accross so they are the large vesion as you can see in the picture. On a clear evening with little wind they can travel quite a distance and only descend when the parafin soaked cardboard goes out. We have launched aprox 10 of these lanterns since Christmas for various family celebrations etc so dont be suprised of more reports.

You are welcome to email or phone me *********** however I would appreciate full anonimoty please?

Yours sincerely

Witness C
